"This work stems from an analysis of the reality experienced by doctors in our health-care systems, projecting, thus, the health professional’s future practice in our country and in the world, justifying the need for the upgrading of professional training in the comunication/relation domain. It is based on a continued and deep reflection, in experience and methodological experimentation in the medical competences area, comunication and relation, as well as in its interrelationships with mental health, health center and professionalism.

It indicates possible ways for the integrated training in the area of communication and relation over the medical curriculum, not always properly explained in the undergraduate curricula of medicine schools, contrary to what occurs in the Anglo Saxon world and some European countries. It constitutes a manifest for the urgency of a contextual necessity for an integrated and vertical project in this area with the mobilization of the entire school".
