Translation norms and expectations in biomedical translation - Perspectives from translators, revisers and health professionals
Although in recent years there has been an increasing interest in translation process research, there is no research into the effect of expectations of revisers and readers on the translation process. The observed process, as well as the decision-making of professional translators, is, however, based on their beliefs about what the community expects from their work. It is relevant not only to understand what translators believe revisers and health professionals expect of them, but also to compare those beliefs with the actual expectations of these agents. The findings of this study contribute to creating a fuller picture of the relationship between practitioners and enable us to better understand the practices in place in biomedical translation.
