"Labirinto do Eu" Book Presentation
"Labirinto do Eu" ("Labyrinth of the I")
The guiding hypothesis of the Labyrinth of the I is that the I is at the core of modern intelligibility, however, far from building a homogeneous structure, it is a multiple figure, dictated in various ways, originating distinct, and even contradictory, narratives.
Entering the Labyrinth is done with the company of a "contemporary", Bernardim Ribeiro, who proposes a form of subjectivity in which the I's history is told in the pluraity of stories that unroll along the brook by which the human mode of housing of the world flows. The Girl is a peculiar way of affection and of care for the other, which constitutes in the narrative's interior.
The book is made of encounters with athors who interpellate me and modify my look towards another, towards the world and towards myself. Montaigne, Francisco Sanches, Descartes, Malebranche, Arnauld and Leibniz are the company on the voyage between I and me, which is cerntainly the most tangled point of the labyrinth.
